Dinosaur species discovered

American and Indian scientists said yesterday that they had discovered the bones of a new dinosaur, Rajasaurus narmadensis, in the Narmada River region of western India. The dinosaurs were between 25ft and 30ft long, had a horn above their skulls, were relatively heavy and walked on two legs, scientists said. They preyed on long-necked herbivorous dinosaurs during the Cretaceous period at the end of the dinosaur era. Scientists said they hoped the discovery would throw light on the extinction of the dinosaurs and the shifting of the continents.
